Quality Insights and Physicians' Offices

Quality Insights understands the challenges you face in your practice. Overhead expenses and the costs of new technologies are high, time is limited, and you're delivering the best quality of care that you can. We want to be your partner in transforming these challenges into opportunities to improve quality of care.

Quality Insights can help you and your practice redesign the way in which care is delivered so that it is more efficient, more effective and more reliable. We can help you transform your practice in order to increase staff satisfaction and increase the time you have to spend with patients.

Over the next three years, Quality Insights will be working with a pilot group of practices to begin adopting and effectively using information technology such as electronic health records, electronic prescribing and reminder systems in conjunction with office practice redesign.  The project is known as Doctor’s Office Quality – Information Technology (DOQ-IT).

Quality Insights is also working with physicians, coalitions and consumers to improve care statewide.

National Provider Identifier Information

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 requires the adoption of a standard unique identifier for health care providers. The NPI Final Rule issued January 23, 2004 adopted the NPI as this standard.

If you bill for Medicare services, you need to obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) from the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES).

For more information on the NPI, please visit https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov/NPPES/Welcome.do.

Welcome to Medicare Physical Exam

Note the Welcome to Medicare Physical Exam from MedQIC. This preventive physical exam is a great way for patients to get up-to-date on important health screenings and shots. It is also one of the few reimbursable preventive services. In addition to information, a number of tools and links are available on the site.

Physicians: scan your care management capabilities

In an effort to help us identify Delaware healthcare trends, Quality Insights is asking physicians to complete a voluntary scan of your care management capabilities.  Your answers will help Quality Insights to develop care management tools that will meet your needs, as well as create a statewide picture of care management practices.
